"I'd been struggling with back pain"
I’d been struggling with back pain from a rugby injury for a number of months when the sports physiotherapist I was visiting recommended I book an appointment with Chris to see if my issues were more than just muscular.
I was a little nervous of seeing a chiropractor initially as I had a preconceived idea based on TV & Films, after 5 minutes chatting with Chris I realised how wrong I had been. Chris is obviously very knowledgeable and is able to explain everything he is doing in a way that is easily understandable, I felt relaxed at all times and was fully aware of what Chris believed the issue with my back was, what he was going to do in order to correct the issue and the timescales involved. After the initial session I felt relief straight away and things improved over time, I was impressed that the frequency of the appointments changed with how my back responded to the treatment so at no point did I feel I was going for the sake of it.
6 months on from the initial consultation I am able to play rugby again for the first time in 12 months and no longer take painkillers at my desk to get through a day’s work, I visit Chris every 2 or 3 months now just to keep things moving. I have recommended him to a number of my teammates already and would have no hesitation with recommending him to anyone else.
"I can live my life without headaches"
I have suffered headaches all my life and this developed into a headache nearly every day, which obviously affected my life greatly. I had spent thousands trying to eradicate these before visiting Back2Health. Following several initial intensive sessions with Chris the headaches subsided and after a couple of months they had gone almost completely. On the occasions they do occur, Chris has given me exercises I can perform to eliminate them. I now visit Back2Health every 3 months for a check up and can now live without the headaches blighting my life.
"Thank you for your help with my back"
Thanks for your help with my back. I had a very sore and weak lower back for weeks due to a gym injury. You managed to sort it within a few weeks and now it's back to good. I'm able to go back to the gym and it causes me no issues at work. Cheers again.
"I no longer need to take any pain killers"
After being prescribed repeated medication for suspected sinus problems but without success, it was suggested by my GP that tension headaches may be the cause of the daily reoccurring episodes of pressure in my head along with neck stiffness and dizziness.
Unhappy with taking regular doses of Ibuprofen, a friend suggested that I give Chiropractic treatment a try and recommended Dr Chris Walker at Back2Health.
I had a Consultation with Chris who upon examining me diagnosed trouble areas in my spine and neck so set about a treatment plan. This together with some good advice on alterations to my daily routine and some easy self help exercises to do in my own time has taken my condition from daily debilitating headaches to them now being few and far between.
The treatment received from Chris has been both painless and very effective. Maybe just as importantly, I no longer need any painkillers. My daily quality of life has improved no end and I would strongly encourage anybody suffering from a problem such as mine to seek the advice of a registered and more importantly qualified chiropractor and can highly recommend Dr Chris Walker at Back2Health.
"I would recommend him to anyone"
I went to Chris after suffering back pain and headaches for several years. After visiting Chris I am feeling much better, I am more mobile, pain free and much more relaxed knowing that if I have problems I can quickly get an appointment. I would recommend him to anyone who has had or is having back problems - very approachable and friendly.
"The standard of service is most definitely outstanding"
Both my daughter and I use Dr Chris Walker of Back2Health Chiropractic when we are experiencing pain mainly in the lower and upper back, neck and shoulder. The standard of service is most definitely outstanding, always providing detailed explanations relating to specific problems and constantly showing effective results. We have always found that Dr Chris Walker has remained respectful and gentlemanly whilst receiving any treatment. He is also very flexible when making appointments and ensures you only receive a necessary amount of treatment required. We are both happy to highly recommend Dr Chris Walker to any persons that may ask and we are confident that they will receive the same experience and satisfaction in a professional service that we have. We wish him continued success in his clinic.
"I'm almost 100% and back competing"
After racing motorcycles for the past 9 years I have put my body through lots of stress and trauma with high-speed impacts and crashes. In January 2013 my back finally gave up and I was left barely able to walk. I heard of Dr Chris Walker at Back2Health through word of mouth and was aware of his success rate in getting people back on there feet. Dr Chris Walker advised me that with the trauma my back had suffered there was no quick fix and I had to be patient. Just 2 months later and I'm almost at 100% and back competing in the Isle of Man road racing championships. Without the help of Dr Chris Walker I wouldn't have been able to carry on racing this year. I would recommend Back2Health to anyone who is suffering with back and neck problems.
"I was able to generate more power"
Dr Chris Walker has helped me significantly since first meeting up with him 6 weeks ago, because I was struggling to swing a golf club more than a few times.
After a thorough assessment of my body and why I was suffering from back pain. We started a 6 week course of treatment. The pain relief was fast and I was able to generate more power in my golf swing because of the good work Chris did with me. I will certainly be continuing to come to Chris for more sessions in the future.
"I'm sleeping though the night"
I was suffering from back pain for almost 2 years, broken nights sleep and 'just getting on with life' until I decided enough was enough and went to see Chris at back2health, 2 months on and a structured treatment plan and I'm sleeping through the night, going cycling again and playing sports I haven't played for years! Which in turn has helped me lose weight and increase my energy levels! Marvellous!!
"I was facing major shoulder surgery"
After suffering pain and limited mobility for a year following an accident, I was facing major surgery to my shoulder. Three weeks treatment with Dr Chris saw the pain reduce significantly. Several more treatments saw my arm and shoulder mobility increase. Now I wonder why it took me so long before I contacted him. I would have no hesitation in recommending anyone, to Dr Chris.
"I suffered with severe headaches"
I first went to back2health with lower back pain, during the initial consultation I mentioned I also suffered with severe headaches at times for which I had been instructed to take several drugs.
Chris examined then treated me for both complaints. My back is now better than it has been in years and to date I have not suffered with a severe headache.
I visit back2health every eight weeks or so and have done for sometime. I have always found Chris to be polite, pleasant and professional in everyway.
I have recommend back2health to several people and would have no hesitation in doing so in the future.
"I had severe pain in my left hip and buttock"
In June 2012 I had to see my doctor as I had severe pain in my left hip and buttock. Following several blood tests and x-rays I was diagnosed with Piriformis Syndrome. A friend recommended me to see Chris at Back2Health so I made an appointment. On my first visit I was given a very thorough examination, and was also told that I had a problem with my lower back. I then had treatment twice a week for one month, after which I was feeling much more mobile. After a further visit I was given specific back exercises to do every other day, which I still do religiously.
I saw Chris again in September and told him I had not had any further pain and was feeling really well. I cannot believe the effect the treatment has had on me, and would definitely recommend the service he offers, his rates are very reasonable, and as I believe you cant put a price on your health, he was worth every penny. Thanks again Chris on a job well done.
"...massively improved quality of life"
Following a serious motorbike racing accident in February 2011, I received various injuries. The main injuries included a sternoclavicular dislocation, fractured sternum, fractured humorous, 6 fractured ribs including 1st rib, shoulder dislocation and associated soft tissue damage to my left shoulder. There was also internal damage/trauma surrounding my heart and left lung.
I was admitted to Nobles Hospital where I initially received emergency treatment to put my shoulder back in and reset my collar bone (external to sternum) and tend to the trauma related issues. My left arm and shoulder were immobilised for 4 weeks and subsequently I ended up with a restricted range of movement within the shoulder, neck and upper back. I was referred to the physiotherapy department at Nobles where I underwent treatment to free up the shoulder and associated problems. The physiotherapy I received did very little to improve my condition. As there was no marked improvement, my consultant advised that the next stage would be manipulation and cortisone injections under general anaesthetic. This was carried out in June 2012. Following this procedure I gained substantially more range of movement but still had stiffness and pain within the shoulder. Increasingly I had to endure not only pain within the shoulder but also down into my left arm, wrist, neck, lower back and in some cases shooting pain into the rear of my left knee. Increasingly I found my back and neck would go into spasm and lock up. I continued to attend the physiotherapy department at Nobles and although sometimes a short term respite was achieved, they never got to the under lying issues. The pain, discomfort and restricted movement were affecting the quality of my life.
In February 2013 I decided to attend Back2Health (Dr Chris Walker), which was recommended by a friend of mine. During the first consultation/examination, Chris was very thorough in gaining as much information regards my condition. Once Chris had completed the review he was very clear in communicating to me what was required in order to address the issues. He prescribed a series of sessions that would systematically work through the problem areas and ultimately address the underlying issues. He set up a schedule of sessions and during these he would always explain what was happening and what I should expect. In addition to his excellent practical skills, I find his communication skills and positive attitude welcoming and influencing towards my own mind set during this physical and mentally challenging period. From experience with previous bike racing injuries, these attributes are not usually common within the medical profession who tend to be un-empathetic and frown upon high-risk sports injuries.
After the first few sessions I could start to feel things improve as a result of the treatment Chris was giving. He actively seeks feedback and adjusts the therapy to suit. By doing this I felt his approach was being tailored to my needs and to ultimately address the underlying issues. Once he was satisfied that my condition was at a suitable level, he introduced an exercise program that I could easily follow and carryout at home. He was very descriptive regards the techniques and if required he would demonstrate the requirements. This helped translate a schematic of an exercise into reality. By following this program of exercises, my condition improved rapidly to a point where we could reduce the frequency of chiropractic sessions at his clinic.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Chris. I am very grateful to the expertise and professionalism he employed when dealing with my condition and returning to me my mobility and a massively improved quality of life.
